One of my friends had a not so nice customer complaint with a manufacturer on a washing machine and Amazon fixed it in a jiffy he was really happy. It’s weird how word of mouth works. The customer service was excellent and changed my view about buying things on line as I had been a little cautious before that.

So I continued my search to get the best price from a reliable source but was convinced Amazon would be the best choice but a little more digging couldn’t hurt. By now I was looking at different models and started to search to see where I can buy a kindle 2 etc.

I looked and studied all my options including kindle v Sony reader and lots more and in my opinion the kindle was still the best buy.

The great thing with Amazon is you can read all the reviews from people who have purchased the one you are looking at and it’s not like a blog post where the bad comments get removed if someone doesn’t like something it will show up.
Go to a retail store and in my experience the salesman will tell you what you want to hear to get the sale. Not to say you still can’t have a good buying experience from a store just that Amazon makes the kindle and has a huge reputation at stake and wants nothing more than good reviews from happy customers.

Word of Warning

The one thing I did find with the Kindle that some people didn’t like is there are some advertisements on the kindle. They don’t just pop up like those annoying adware or spyware we have come accustom to on our computers but just when you power up etc. You need WiFi on to click on any ads, however I was amazed at some of the offers such as you can get a $20 Amazon gift certificate for 10 bucks, now that is good value.

I love ads and some are great value so really it’s no bother to me however I can see the other side of the coin and understand those that wouldn’t. If that’s you then the good news is for a small fee you can choose not receive advertising at all, just know that every time you watch an ad for a few seconds someone is paying and in turn eventually bringing the cost of the kindle down. So the next new release will hopefully be even more affordable but that’s way down the road for now.

So I can honestly say that I can highly recommend purchasing a kindle through Amazon for all the reasons mentioned above and I recently discovered I can get a small kickback from them if I sent you too there site which is ironic because I was sending people there anyway and would have built this site anyway as I had a great experience.
